Durango is the premier mountain town of The Southwest, with a beautifully varied terrain ranging from rugged mountain peaks and lush valleys to inspiring open deserts and sandstone formations. There are a wealth of activities for locals and visitors alike.

The beautiful terrain of over 1.8 million acres of San Juan National Forest provides a fantastic four seasons playground. It would take a lifetime to explore all of the biking and hiking trails. Fishing and hunting are excellent, there are several ski areas close at hand, and an abundance of rivers and lakes perfect for water sports. The weather is fantastic, with over 300 days of sunshine per year. We are visited by many fine musicians at our Community Concert Hall and downtown venues. There are always exciting local events happening, such as Music In The Mountains, Snowdown, and The Iron Horse Motorcycle Rally. Living in this beautiful place has been my privilege and joy for nearly fifty years. Take a look at what Durango has to offer!
