contractor. First subdivision approved by La Plata County
after passage of S.B. 35, Colorado's new Land Use Law.
Coordinated interpretation of law by County Commissioners
with Denver staff of Colorado Land Use Commission.
1965 - 1977. Durango Ski Corporation, Durango, Colorado.
* Professional Ski Patrolman for nine years.

*Formed and syndicated this Colorado Private Limited
Partnership and registered with SEC.
* Wrote Memoranda with income proformas and budgets.
* Obtained all EMSHA and other required permits for
mine.
* Expanded land position from 700+ acres to 2300+ acres.
* Administered funds.
1987. President of San Juan Enterprises, Inc. Obtained
interest in Burbank Claim Group. General Partner of
Burbank Gold, Ltd.
1989. Assembled and helped organize top flight team
for development of premier fly fishing ranch at Elk
Park Ranch.
1985 - 1986. Formed the Old Main Post Office Joint Venture
with the owner and became the Managing Partner with
the following duties:
* General Contractor for over 20 subcontractors; hired
personal construction manager, crew, and foreman.
* Redesigned construction and floor plans, tenant finish,
and interior and exterior design of common areas.
* Received the following awards:
* (1985) Honorable Mention for nonresidential development
from the City of Durango.
* (1985) Development Award for Sign Design by the City
of Durango.
* (1986) The Stephen B. Hart Award by the Colorado Historical
Society in recognition of outstanding achievement in
preserving Colorado's cultural heritage.
* Administered funds and accounting reports to joint
venture and general management.
* Marketing and leasing agent. Achieved 90 percent occupancy
in second year in very weak market.
1985. Personally led and fought one-year battle with
the La Plata County Commissioners to stop the moving
of the La Plata County Courthouse from the downtown
area. Resulted in Commissioners changing their decision
to move and the defeat of the Chairman of the County
Commissioners in the next election.
1984. General Agent for owner of the Old Post Office
(22,600 S.F.) in Durango, Colorado.
* Researched and analyzed:
* Market for office development.
* Certified Historic Rehabilitation design and facade
conservation easement to maximize Investment Tax Credits
with legal and tax ramifications.
* Construction costs and budgets.
* Available general and subcontractors with their qualifications
for various job descriptions.
* Construction techniques, management, and materials.
* Insurance requirements and ramifications.
* Income projections and cash flows.
1982 - 1983. Devised, designed, developed, and sold
subdivision for Tom and Donna Peterson. Tripled investment
in two years.
1981 - 1982. Devised, designed, and developed subdivision
and completely administered funds and subcontractors.
Involved with very complicated water augmentation plan
and approvals by the county and state Land and Water
Use officials. Sold out in two years, tripled investment
for owners Paul and Ruth Hamilton and interacted with
D.R.C. Brown of Aspen Ski Corporation fame who acted
as financial advisor for his daughter, Ruth Hamilton.
1978 - 1979. Brokered property to developers of Gelande
Village Resort, La Plata County. Development consultant
to developers.
1973 - 1977. Co-Director of Purgatory Ski Patrol. Director
of First Aid and First Aid Training. Designed and implemented
new first aid techniques and equipment. During this
period, Purgatory Ski Area had the lowest accident rate
of any ski area in the nation and no fatalities. We
also won every national competition we could find for
professional ski patrols in the U.S.A.
1975. Owner and General Contractor of personal home
construction with tennis court and landscaping. Sold
at profit.

1965. - Rocky Mountain Division Junior Champion, Cross
Country Skiing
1965. - Third in nation at Junior Nationals Cross Country
Skiing
First Position - tennis team in high school and college
CIVIC ACTIVITIES:
1989 - 2001 - Helped organize and start new Cub Scout
Pack #502, grew to approximately 100 families. Chairman
of Executive Committee for years. Became the best Cub
Pack in Mesa Verde District and maybe in the world!
Pinewood Derby District Champions.
